Session Details

Session ID:

BC2537

Session Title:

With mission critical applications running inside virtual machines, Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) needed to extend their existing disaster recovery plan to include their VMware Virtual Infrastructure environment. After careful evaluation of the available options, IEC turned to EMC and VMware to provide a scalable and proven solution to protect their environment. With the help of EMC professional services, IEC deployed a solution that leveraged EMC Symmetrix SRDF technology to replicate the VMware Virtual Infrastructure data with VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager as the enabler for the replication. The solution has dramatically reduced the complexity of IEC's DR plans. As a result, the customer is expanding their VMware Virtual Infrastructure environment by adding more critical servers to the environment. The session will present the details of the solution that was implemented at IEC. Best practices and potential pitfalls of utilizing vCenter Site Recovery Manager with EMC SRDF will be presented. The session will also include a detailed discussion of the new features of SRDF storage replication adapter (SRA) that have been implemented to simplify the use of SRDF in VMware Virtual Infrastructure environments.
