Session Title: | Protecting the Corporate Infrastructure: Leveraging Site Recovery Manager for Multi-Site DR Protection |
Session Abstract: | Crane & Co, a Dalton, MA manufacturing company, needed a DR/BC solution to provide protection for their primary manufacturing applications as well as their administrative systems. By expanding VI and migrating to a replicated SAN infrastructure, they enabled future DR capability. Adding Site Recovery Manager, they were able to not only protect their IT assets, but allow for near seamless failover to their DR location. Additionally, they were able to protect another facility in Georgia by virtualizing, backing them with SRM, and replicating back to the DR site. Leveraging VI3 and SRM, Crane now has a viable, reproducible, and resilient DR/BC plan in place for their IT infrastructure. As a result of Crane's VMware infrastructure upgrades, SAN migration, and SRM installation and configuration, there were able to roll out a comprehensive DR/BC plan to protect their IT assets with minimal impact to the company, and with better uptime, performance, and reliability of their primary systems. |
